Each venue listed in this website was visited by a person with a disability to assess its levels of accessibility and its inclusion in this guide was based on this assessment. The content of the guide therefore reflects the day to day experiences of people with disabilities and is based on information collected by volunteers according to a standard template.

The information presented on the guide should not be viewed as the result of formal access audits; rather the site is designed to assist people with disabilities to decide whether a particular venue meets their access requirements by answering key everyday questions such as;

  • How do I gain access to a building?
  • Is there an accessible toilet on the premises?
  • Once inside is a venue entirely accessible?

The symbols used in the guide are explained below;

  • Level Access
    Level Access - Entrance to the building is level
  • Ramp
    Entrance to the building is ramped
  • Accessible Toilet
    There is an accessible toilet on the premises
  • Accessible Lift
    There is an accessible lift on the premises
  •  Steps
    There are internal steps - some parts or floors may not be accessible
  • Guide Dogs
    Guide Dogs are allowed
  •  Sliding Doors
    Entrance has sliding doors
